A Maintenance-First Approach to Chimney Care
Chimney Services Pro is built around a simple idea: most chimney problems are cheaper and safer to prevent than to fix. In Novato that means keeping an eye on the things that wear out quietly, such as the refractory panels and chase covers on the prefab fireplaces found in so many 1960s-80s homes, the connector pipes on wood stoves that run every winter night, and the crowns and flashing that take a beating from bay wind and winter rain.
We would rather tell you that a part can wait another season than sell you a repair you do not need. When something does need attention, we explain why, show you the photos, and help you decide what comes first. Homeowners who understand their own fireplace tend to use it more safely, and that is the outcome we care about.

How We Work on Every Novato Job
Our work follows recognized standards rather than habit. Inspections are based on NFPA 211 and CSIA guidance, factory-built fireplaces are repaired with parts listed for that unit, relining uses UL 1777 listed stainless steel liners, and replacement stoves and fireplace inserts are EPA-certified. Around Novato's open space, every wood-burning chimney we service should leave with a working spark arrestor.
- Drop cloths and HEPA vacuums on every visit, so soot stays in the chimney and out of the house.
- A camera look at the flue, because most real problems are out of sight.
- Photos and a written estimate before any repair begins.
- Honest answers about Spare the Air rules, firewood and safe burning habits.
If you are not sure where to start, a chimney inspection is the best first step; it gives both of us a clear picture before anyone talks about repairs.
Where We Work in North Marin and Southern Sonoma
Our home base is Novato, from Old Town and Hamilton out to San Marin, Indian Valley and the neighborhoods off Atherton Avenue. From there we head south along Highway 101 to Marinwood and Lucas Valley, east toward the bay to Bel Marin Keys and Black Point-Green Point, west over the hills to the ranch country around Nicasio, and north into Sonoma County to Petaluma, Penngrove and Cotati. Each place has its own mix of housing and chimney problems, and our service areas page covers what we see in each one.
When you are ready to book, contact our Novato team with a short description of your fireplace or stove and what you have noticed, and we will suggest the right kind of visit.
